Seqwater – Water Future Community Grants Program (2021)

Project: Southern Moreton Bay Islands Cultural Heritage Study

In partnership with Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC). Seqwater provides this community grant to fund initiatives that help build a more waterwise community.

 

Department of Environment and Science, Queensland – Looking After Country Grant (2021)

Project: Wulgurukaba Rangers on Yunbenun (Magnetic Island)

This project was initiated by Wulgurukaba Yunbenun Aboriginal Corporation to successfully acquire funding through the DES Looking after Country Grant program. This grant will be used to expand the current Indigenous ranger program on Yunbenun (Magnetic Island). The ranger program will actively engage Wulgurukaba Traditional Owners with training and employment through QPWS&P to grow their capacity for land and sea management on their own country.

 

National Recovery and Resilience Agency – Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program (2022)

Project: K’gari Bushfires – Butchulla Fire Management and Heritage Conservation

The Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation (BAC) was awarded funding to build capacity for Indigenous-led fire management on K’gari, conserve bushfire affected heritage, and assess and mitigate threats posed by future burns. This collaborative project will create employment and training opportunities for Butchulla Indigenous rangers, empowering BAC to continue sustainable management of bushfire risk beyond the life of the project

Project: Main Range Bushfires - Yuggera Ugarapul Heritage Resilience

This is a collaboration with the Yuggera Ugarapul People (YUP), Cultural Heritage Wai and Everick Foundation for a fire management and heritage resilience project. This initiative will proactively engage Traditional Owners in on-country fire management, fire affected heritage conservation, and risk assessment and mitigation for future bushfires. The first step of the project involves fire management training and data system development, followed by a systematic survey of YUP heritage previously affected by or vulnerable to bushfire damage.

National Recovery and Resilience Agency – Preparing Australian Communities Grants (2022)

Project: Dawson River, Gyranda Section – Wulli Wulli Heritage Resilience Project

In partnership with Wulli Wulli Nation Aboriginal Corporation (WWNAC), Everick Foundation has been awarded a grant to support a capacity building and disaster resilience program in Banana Shire.  This grant will facilitate a more proactive role for WWNAC in land management and disaster resilience on country. Additionally, it will fund a combined pedestrian and drone survey to identify culturally significant areas and generate resilience measures as part of climate change response planning.  

 

Australian Archaeological Association – National Archaeology Week Event Support Grant (2022)

Project: Public Excavation at Wolston House

Our public excavation at Wolston Farmhouse, in collaboration with National Trust of Australia, has been supported through a generous grant from National Archaeology Week and Australian Archaeological Association. This is an opportunity for the public to participate in archaeology firsthand and closely engage with Queensland’s heritage.
